Now anyone can assemble their own Peel P50. The DIY kit starts at $12,600.
Miniature car enthusiasts can now assemble the popular Peel P50 on their own. The car will be equipped with an electric motor and will be able to drive almost anywhere. About it reported on the electrek site.
The original Peel P50 was introduced back in the early 1960s. It was the smallest production car in the world.
Peel P50 was positioned for short city trips. The model never had a reverse gear, but instead had a handle in the back.
The production of the car ceased in 1965. After a while, businessmen were able to resurrect the brand and continue to release the model.
P50 Cars has created a replica of the car, which is equipped with a gasoline engine or an electric motor. The electric version produces 5.5 hp. and can accelerate up to 45 km/h.
The kit includes wheels, bodywork, seat, steering wheel, transmission and pretty much everything else you need to build the world’s smallest electric car. The complete assembly of the model takes about 50 hours. If you don’t want to spend time building a car, P50 Cars offers pre-built cars.
The finished electric car is completed with lighting, a sound signal, brakes and rear-view mirrors. There is one single door on the left side of the car.
The DIY kit starts at $12,600. The fully assembled model will cost $16,970.
