Worldline joins the CAC 40 index in place of TechnipFMC

The electronic payments group, which plans to grow further by buying Ingenico, saw its net profit jump last year from 100.5 million euros to 311.2 million.

The specialist in electronic payments Worldline, which announced in early February the acquisition of its competitor Ingenico, will make its return to the flagship index of the Paris Stock Exchange, the CAC 40, in place of TechnipFMC, Euronext announced on Thursday.

The changes will take effect on Monday, March 23, said the pan-European market operator, which oversees the Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Dublin and Oslo stock exchanges.

Worldline had been ousted from the Paris index in June 2019, after its merger with Atos.

The group, which plans to grow further by acquiring its competitor Ingenico, saw its net profit jump last year from 100.5 million euros to 311.2 million euros.

The Franco-American petroleum services company TechnipFMC sank into the red in 2019, with a loss of $ 2.4 billion compared to $ 1.9 billion a year earlier, penalized by asset impairments.

The broader SBF 120 index will welcome the Française des Jeux (FDJ), which went public in late November 2019, as well as the technology consultancy group Akka Technologies.

However, the French cement manufacturer Vicat is excluded.

The composition of the Paris index is the responsibility of the Scientific Council of Euronext indices, which meets every quarter and takes into account two major criteria, the size of the floating capital (capital tradable on the Stock Exchange) and the number of exchanges recorded on the titles.
