The United States said that World War III could begin in 2023. American military analyst Robert Farley spoke about probable scenarios for the development of large-scale events.

“In 2022, the world has moved closer to a great-power war. This hasn’t happened since the end of the Cold War,” Farley wrote in an article for 19 Forty-five.

According to him, despite the unlikely scenario of a direct military confrontation between NATO and Russia over the situation in Ukraine, an escalation is still possible. If “either side” takes risky steps, the conflict could escalate into World War III, he said. The author also expressed concern about the tension that had once arisen between Taiwan and China. According to him, representatives of the United States and Japan may be involved in the conflict, which will lead to a war of great powers.

Robert Farley noted that a conflict is also brewing between Greece and Turkey. “Any confrontation between Turkey and Greece will immediately lead to NATO involvement,” he said. Another scenario for the development of the Third World War is associated with tensions between Seoul and Pyongyang. “Should war break out, it could quickly become more destructive than the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,” the author of the article is convinced.

The last, fifth conflict that can turn into a world war is the fighting between China and India. “Sporadic fighting between China and India continues on the roof of the world. […] While the fighting has so far remained very limited, the desire to protect national prestige can quickly become toxic to even the wisest and most prudent leaders,” said Robert Farley.

Earlier URA.RU reported that the former President of Poland said about the threat of World War III. In support of his thought, the politician recalled that in addition to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, relations between China and the island of Taiwan are also tense. Also, India and Turkey are worried about world events, the former chief stressed.
