World War II Bomb Found: Controlled Detonation in Offenbach District

A World War II bomb was found between Offenbach and Heusenstamm. It is to be detonated in a controlled manner on Monday.

A fire bomb from the Second World War was found in Heusenstamm (Offenbach district) on Monday. The bomb is said to be of German manufacture. The location of the 250-kilo bomb is a meadow near a restaurant, as announced by the city of Offenbach.

Accordingly, the bomb is to be detonated in a controlled manner this Monday, as flammable liquid is leaking. The houses in a Heusenstamm residential area are currently being evacuated, and accommodation for the affected residents has been set up. They should be vacated by 5 p.m. at the latest. The measures could last until the evening, the municipalities said. They warn of obstructions in rush hour traffic in the afternoon and evening.
