World Veterans Judo Championship Continues in Abu Dhabi Under Patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan

ABU DHABI, 31st October / WAM / The activities of the World Veterans Judo Championship, held at the Sorbonne University Hall in Abu Dhabi, will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The competition will be held at the conclusion of the three major world championships, organized by the Emirates Judo Federation, under the supervision of the International Federation, and with the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with the participation of 1,025 male and female players representing 64 countries.
The teams of Kuwait, Morocco, and Syria will participate in tomorrow’s round, while the finals will be held in the evening, in addition to the participation of many brotherly and friendly nationalities residing in the country, in the open championship competitions, and the Saudi player Ibrahim Bakr (57 years old) qualified for the final round yesterday.
Tomorrow’s round will also witness competitions (Men 4 and Men 5), after the start of the qualifiers in groups (Men 1 and Men 3), while the women’s competitions will be held on the last day according to the draw that was held at the Ramada Hotel, Abu Dhabi.
The international refereeing team of the Judo Federation, consisting of Ahmed Sulaiman Al Balushi, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, and Hisham Al Ali, in addition to international referee Dr. Salam Al Khattat, participates in managing the championship matches.
