The World Skate Games 2024 are coming to Italy for the first time in the history of roller sports. All roller sports come together in a true festival of youth and entertainment in a one-of-a-kind event, organized by the Italian Roller Sports Federation and the international one, World Skate. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the presentation in Piazzale del Pincio with Minister Abodi, on September 6th the Opening Ceremony in Piazza di Spagna in the presence of the authorities and the international public, between the Barcaccia and Trinità dei Monti, with an evocative parade of flags and a one-of-a-kind light show. The WSG 2024 will not only be the World Championship of Roller World Championships, but a true urban festival that will involve 4 Regions from September 6th to 22nd. Each event, immersed in the heart of the cities, starting from Rome, between Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio and Piedmont, will be marked by the rhythm of music. President Sabatino Aracu explains: “The World Skate Games are the world event that awards the most world titles ever, 156. A single, unrepeatable event of 12 world championships in 12 very different disciplines, united by a great passion, rollerblading. A united community of athletes and sports open to all, especially young people”. 12 disciplines, in fact, including the Olympic one of skateboarding, 4 Regions involved, 20 different locations, 12,000 athletes and teams, 600 competitions, 100 participating countries. These are big numbers for a unique event. And mind you, organized by Aracu, known and esteemed also in the political world, without useless waste of public money. That’s no small feat, in these times.
Football, tennis and sailing: great ratings on Sky
Great ratings for the “perfect Sunday” at Sky’s House of Sport, with many live events including motorsports, football, tennis and sailing. In particular, excellent results for Formula 1: Ferrari’s victory with Charles Leclerc at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, live from 3pm on Sky and TV8, obtained a total of 3 million 766 thousand average viewers, with a 31.7% overall TV share. Specifically, on Sky the race obtained an audience of 1 million 419 thousand average viewers in Total Audience, with an 11.2% TV share, while on free-to-air TV8 it was watched by 2 million 347 thousand average viewers, with a 20.6% TV share. Excellent numbers also for Serie A Enilive: the first big match of the season, Juventus-Roma, live at 20.45 on Sky, was watched overall by 1 million 387 thousand average viewers in Total Audience, with 8.5% TV share and 2 million 300 thousand unique viewers. Excellent start of Serie A 2024-25 on Sky: the first three matchdays (with 3 co-exclusive matches per round) obtained an average of 1 million 433 thousand cumulative viewers in Total Audience, up +46% compared to the first 3 matchdays of last year.
In the Super Weekend of Sky Sport also MotoGP: the Aragon race, yesterday at 2 pm live on Sky, obtained an audience of 871 thousand average viewers in Total Audience, with 6.5% of TV share. In the schedule of the House of Sport also tennis with the US Open, watched yesterday by over 1.2 million unique viewers, and sailing with the Round Robin of the Louis Vuitton Cup: yesterday’s regattas accumulated 123 thousand average viewers during the day.
