World roller hockey champion held a technical training clinic in Machalí – 2024-03-01 03:15:30

The world roller hockey champion, Alexa Tapia, held a technical training clinic for the students of the Pumas de Machalí Club. The event took place on February 25, at the Guillermo Chacón Stadium skatedrome.

The activity brought together more than 30 athletes, who received a technical talk and a master class by the women’s hockey icon, belonging to the historic “Las Marcianitas” 2006 squad.

“I am very happy to be in Machalí, sharing with you (students) my knowledge of hockey and my experience as a professional player. Thanks to this beautiful sport I was able to be world champion in 2006, participate in seven world championships, see the world and share with the best hockey players,” Tapia said during the technical training.

One of the participants in the sports clinic was Amaru Contreras, 8 years old, who indicated that “it was a nice experience to be able to share with Alexa. “She took advantage of us and taught us various exercises that will serve us as a team.”

For his part, the Pumas Club coach, Juan Contreras, said that “having the participation of a hockey master was a tremendous honor. My students were very happy to learn about her story and her achievements worldwide. Also, to reinforce specific techniques of this sport and to learn more about roller hockey in general through their experience.”

It should be noted that the sports clinic was completed thanks to the contributions of the club members and the efforts carried out by the Machalino municipality. “We are very grateful to everyone who made this technology a reality,” commented Soledad Yáñez, president of the institution.
