Will a world record be broken on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Montluçon? About sixty runners will take turns tomorrow, 2 p.m., to try to break the world record for distance traveled with a joëlette. On a 3 km circuit starting from the Rouget de l’Isle quay, they will therefore tow this single-wheeled device for 24 hours, which allows a person with a disability to be taken on board.
At the initiative of the UNAPEI pays d’Allier, which welcomes people with mental disabilities in its structures. The project has been baptized objective 310, 310 km, this is the target distance to do better than the 304.19 km achieved last year in Chambéry. To give itself every chance of success, the team invited a few runners with references.
Julien Méry is one of the members of the organization.
Three volunteers supported by UNAPEI structures will also take turns getting into the joëlette. The event is also intended for the general public with the establishment of a village with entertainment, quai Rouget de l’Isle.
So of course if the record is in focus, the goal is also to speak positively about disability. Fabien Mys is also a member of the organization.
Departure 2 p.m. tomorrow from the Rouget de l’Isle quay. The organizers invite runners to join the event, especially between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
