It reported much more than expected: 2.1 billion in 2019, against 1.5 billion euros expected. The property wealth tax (IFI), which succeeds the wealth solidarity tax (ISF) since 2018, benefits from the rise in property prices, from the attraction of French savers for stone , and economic recovery.

140,000 households liable for the IFI

The IFI no longer concerns “only” 140,000 tax households, which have a taxable net property heritage of more than 1.3 million euros.

The Principality of Monaco is also very well represented, with a record average IFI, around 30,000 euros – national record.
