For the first time in the Arteon, this includes a 160 kW (218 hp) plug-in hybrid drive. As a Fastback version and Shooting Brake, both Arteon are among the first models of their kind to be available in the upper middle class with a plug-in hybrid drive.

A total of three turbo petrol (TSI), two turbodiesel (TDI) and, as outlined, a plug-in hybrid drive (eHybrid) will be available for the Arteon and Arteon Shooting Brake. The TSI deliver 110 kW (150 PS) and 140 kW (190 PS) and 235 kW (320 PS) in the case of the R-TSI. A TSI is also used in the eHybrid; it develops 115 kW (156 hp) and is supplemented by an 85 kW (115 hp) electric motor. The TDI will be available with 110 kW (150 PS) and 147 kW (200 PS). All engines combine high efficiency, low emissions and powerful torque.
