The annual award for music recordings “Golden Microphone” is usually unthinkable without musical performances and premieres, and at this year’s ceremony the popular singer Aija Andrejeva and the mystical image ZeBrene, who entered Latvian music last year, delighted with a new song.
The “shaman” is like a story about childhood traumas that make oneself feel as a person grows up, and you have to start thinking about what to do with them, how to fix them, how to help yourself. It is a work on its own, with long-standing problems accumulated and stifled over the years.
“It may sound like a joke, but it’s not a joke at all. The “sauce” in which this song is made is inspiring, and I very much hope that it will inspire others as well.
Personally, it tells me about the identity crisis, about the moment when a person loses himself a bit, when there is a stage in life, that you try to reach the peaks so much that you forget who you are, and start looking for yourself again. The inner child has been forgotten, but you understand that the real joy and joy of life is possible only when you are in harmony with it, ”explains Andrejeva.
For the author, this song is like a journey into his inner problems.
“ZeBrene solves his problems in a song and maybe someone else, listening to the words and the single as a whole, will be able to solve their own, because everyone has their own shaman. Another will consider rest as their shaman, another will drink three glasses of wine in the evening, another will go to a psychotherapist or maybe even seek the help of a real shaman. Everyone does what suits them, ”explains ZeBrene.
ZeBrene himself reveals that this song originated a moment before his stage birth, almost fell from the sky, sent from a satellite and it was immediately clear that it should be recorded in a duet with Aija Andrejeva, because the composition is in a playful vintage style, it feels a hippie atmosphere.
ZeBrene himself addressed me for collaboration, and since the most listened song on my Spotify playlist last year was his Antidepressants, I can’t refuse. Cooperation with him was very easy. It’s as if we’ve met and worked together in a previous life, or just done it for decades.
I very much hope that this very encouraging piece as a whole will be created for this gloomy time as a whole. The video for the song is also inspiring, uplifting and springy. I really want all this to give the listeners a great dose of energy and joy! ” says Andrejeva.
