Developers World of Warcraft Blizzard reported a few minutes ago that Shadowlands is being postponed indefinitely, but is still slated for release later this year. According to the developers, the add-on is simply not ready for release yet, and high quality standards simply do not allow them to release a raw product.
Over the past few months of beta testing, we’ve made significant progress in debugging and polishing the core features of Shadowlands mechanics and gameplay. At the moment, the game zones, the campaign, the leveling process and the story are completely ready to be shown to people. But after we put all of the above together from your feedback, we realized that the add-on needed some additional polishing and balancing.

The developers promise to provide additional information about the new release dates as soon as they are ready.
