In front of an impressive jury made up of eminent university professors, he defended his Doctorate thesis in Public International Law on November 25, 2024 in Paris. Thus becoming a pioneer in this field at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne.
He is a Colonel-Magistrate in the Cameroonian army. He is less than fifty years old. When we talk about the Maroua Military Tribunal in the Diamaré department, Far North region, we immediately see Colonel Jackson Cédric Tchinda Yemeyo where he officiates as president of the said tribunal.
His name is also closely linked to the Garoua Military Tribunal where, between July 2005 and January 2015, he successively served as Deputy Government Commissioner and Investigating Judge. In January 2015, he was promoted to Government Commissioner at the N’Gaoundéré military court and had the heavy responsibility of setting up this newly created jurisdiction.
He also left an indelible mark on the Douala military court as Government Commissioner between June 2017 and March 2020; just like at the Buea Military Court where he served as President between March 2020 and March 2024. A career that says a lot about his mastery of criminal law and the functioning of military courts with all their complexity. A pure military product, he would have been content with it, especially since he has several operational qualifications.
Having followed his initial officer training at the Saint Cyr Coëtquidan Schools in France, he completed his course by completing all the courses dedicated to officers. He thus followed the Unit Commanders Internship, the Staff Certificate, the Staff Diploma and crowned this course with the Military Certificate of Second Degree Higher Education obtained in 2015 at the School Superior International War of Yaoundé.
Always thirsty for knowledge, since November 19, 2019, he began the preparation of a doctoral thesis in law at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne under the direction of the eminent Professor Jean-François AKANDJI-KOMBE, teaching at the School in law from the Sorbonne. After 5 years of hard work, punctuated by numerous research stays in France, he valiantly defended this thesis on “The formation of a regional law for the fight against terrorism in Sub-Saharan Africa. Research on the coordination and effectiveness of standards” on November 25, 2024. This major academic exercise took place in the presence of illustrious teachers such as: Jean-François Akandji-Kombe, Professor at the School of Law from the Sorbonne, Thesis director; Joël Andriantsimbazovina, Professor at Toulouse 1 Capitole University, president of the jury; Ms Anne-Sophie Lamblin Gourdin, Professor at the University of Bretagne Sud, rapporteur; Jean Matringe, Professor at the Sorbonne Law School, suffragan; Makane Moïse Mbengue, Professor at the University of Geneva, rapporteur and Ms. Alix Toublanc, Lecturer at the Sorbonne Law School, suffragan.
A jury configuration which testifies not only to the importance of the subject addressed, but also to its depth. It must be said that Jackson Cédric Tchinda Yemeyo is the very first colonel-magistrate to defend a doctoral thesis in law in France and more precisely at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, thus truly entering the Pantheon of the Cameroonian army. whom he swore to serve with “honor and fidelity”.
