In the pantheon of superhero movies, “Green Lantern” is not exactly highly regarded. The film, which was a disappointment to critics and the box office, is not only not loved by fans, but its own star had never seen it completely, until now.
In celebration of both St Patrick’s Day and the launch of #SnyderCut, Ryan Reynolds decided to promote his gin brand on Wednesday night by sipping some green cocktails as he sat down to watch the movie cover to cover, apparently for the first time.
“Excited to see the Snyder Cut But before its debut, and with the help of a good amount of #AviationGin I will do something I have never done: see Happy Green Lantern #StPatricksDay,” he exclaimed on Twitter before his live tweet session .
“Starting GL now First time ever. Is it too early to ask for a #SnyderCut from this bitch? “He said when the movie started, adding that” he just read my parts of the script, “which makes the movie really exciting for me.”
“This lead seems reckless but nice,” he then tweeted, about himself, before joking: “I swear I’m drinking for the Grammy winner and international ambassador of joy, @TaikaWaititi Not to numb the pain I may be in”
He then poked fun at his character’s “tragic” backstory, before joking about his now-wife Blake Lively’s appearance in the film and how it foreshadowed their life as parents.

He went on to praise his co-stars, saying that he loves Stanley Tucci, thinks Angela Bassett is “awesome Point,” misses Michael Clarke Duncan, and said the overall cast was just “amazing.”
“There are a lot of great hitters in the movie,” he added. “Not always used in the right way but still heavy weights”
“I stand by my oath fulfillment,” Reynolds later tweeted. “Do you have any idea how strange it is to act while being attacked by invisible space energy?”
Reynolds continued to pour himself a few cocktails as he continued to watch the movie, revealing that not only did he still have his ring from the movie, but he was wearing it as well.
“It may be the Aviation Gin speaking, but #GreenLantern was nothing to fear,” he wrote. “Hundreds of incredible cast and crew members did an incredible job, and while it’s not perfect, it’s not a tragedy. Next time I won’t wait a decade to see ”
