The concerts of the association “JMO” are very memorable events, in which music allows you to experience both magical meditative moments and interesting rhythms. Jans Galega Brennimans (Switzerland), Moussa Sisoho (Senegal) and Omri Hassons (Israel) play in the group, who are also working successfully in other projects, but have already released two music albums together . The name of the trio’s second album is “Dandoula Tala”, which means “No Borders!” in the Mandinka language spoken in Gambia, Mali and Senegal. The songs are written by the musicians themselves and they reflect their different origins, offering a true journey across borders.

As a result of a combination of different musical traditions into a unified sound and imaginative melodies, listening to this band’s music is an unforgettable experience. The sparkling sounds of the Kora (African harp with 22 strings) meet the warm tones of the bass clarinet and Eastern percussion in a perfect interplay.

“The Itinerants” Trio sing perfectly songs of different genres and different periods – from the distant Middle Ages to Edith Piaf and Corsican polyphony. It was created in Paris in January 2017 by the French singers Manon Cousin, Pauline Langlois Deswart and Elodie Pon, but their joint story began in a special way. Manon only had ten days to make a concert program and she contacted the other two singers, inviting them to visit and asking them to bring sheet music, cakes and tea. Each of the singers had prepared something different, because for Polina it was classical music, for Elodie it was world music, and for Manon it was jazz and French songs. it was There was not enough time to create a coherent program, but it was still only a collaboration for one show, as they thought at the time.

However, playing different music from different eras, styles and artists became the signature of Les Itinérantes. Currently, the trio’s repertoire already covers 11 different musical styles, nine centuries and many languages of the world. True to the name of the trio “Les Itinérantes” – “The Travelers” – they travel from one time to another, creating images, stories and emotions with their voices.

The concert is organized by SIA “Kurzemes filharmonija” with financial support from the city of Ventspils and the State Cultural Capital Fund.
