— The US dollar weakened against major currencies traded on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday (November 15) after the US released lower-than-expected inflation data. This has led investors to expect the US Federal Reserve (Fed) to slow down by raising interest rates.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, fell 0.24% to 106.4070.

The dollar was weaker against the yen at 139.13 yen from 139.88 yen and against the Canadian dollar at 1.3285 from 1.3286. But the US dollar was stronger against the Swiss franc at 0.9424 francs from 0.9415 francs and against the Swedish krona at 10.4530 from 10.4512 kroner.

The euro was higher against the dollar at $1.0365 from $1.0354, while the pound was higher at $1.1873 from $1.1779.
