London ∙ World Malayali Council Europe Region organized the Christmas New Year’s celebration with a variety of different artistic programs. On December 30 at 4 pm, at 8.30 pm Indian time, the Christmas New Year celebration through the virtual platform started with Sheeja Schildkamp’s Ishwara prayer. World Malayali Council Europe Region President Jolly M. Everyone was welcomed at Padayat. He also informed that the next conference of the art and culture venue being held by the World Malayali Council Europe Region will be held on January 27.
The Apostolic Visitor of the Syro Malabar Church in Europe, Bishop Mar Stephen Chirapanam, along with renowned social worker, spiritual guru and General Secretary of Shantigram Ashram, Swami Gururatna Gnanathapasi, inaugurated the Bhadradeepam. Swami Gururatna Gnanathapasi said that he should come into the lives of helpless fellow beings through acts of mercy and he understands that the World Malayali Council is doing it well. Gnanathapasi said that only organizations like the World Malayali Council can bring Malayalis from all over the world together. He specifically mentioned that he was able to know more about the World Malayali Council because of his long-term friendship with Abdul Hakki, an active worker of the World Malayali Council and the President of NRK.
Bishop Mar Stephen Chirapanath said that it is like a little boy looking at a plane going through the sky and saying it is small, but when he saw the plane up close and wondering to his father if it was such a big plane passing through the sky.
The 9th conference of the art and culture venue organized by the World Malayali Council Europe Region for the Malayalis worldwide was held as a Christmas and New Year celebration. World Malayali Council Global Chairman Gopalapilla, Global President John Matthai, Global General Secretary Pinto Kannampilly and Europe Region Chairman Jolly Tattahill spoke with a New Year message. World Malayalee Council Global Vice President Thomas Arambankudi, NRK President Abdul Hakim, Global Women’s Forum President Professor Dr. Dr. Lalitha Mathew, President of Global Health Forum. Jimmy Lonappan, American Region President Johnson Thalassallur, Dubai Province President K. A. Poulsen, President of German Province Jos Kumpiluveli, Secretary of Europe Region Babu Thottapilly, President of UK North West Province Joseph Sebastian and others spoke with greetings.
Professor Dr. Sirak Cherukat (Austria), Sobichan Chennankara (Germany), James Pathical (Germany), Jomi Wilson (Ajman Province) and Emma Robin (North Texas Province-USA) have also sung beautiful songs from Europe, America and the Gulf. Annakutty Phinde sang the poem “Thindipthayaya Samayyam” and the delightful Christmas dance by dancers such as Angeline Shaji, Ashlyn Shaji, Elint Sanya, Debbie Karote, Leya Karote, Linu Joseph, Litha Anish, Soumya Antony and Sunitha Santhosh from North Texas, USA brightened up the Christmas and New Year celebrations. World Malayalee Council Global Vice Chairman and Orator who is full of art and culture. The cultural event was moderated by Gregory Meda and Anna Tom, a dancer and speaker studying in the UK. In this cultural event held on the last Saturday of every month, all expatriate Malayalis from the countries they live in will have the opportunity to participate, present their artworks (sing poems, songs, etc.) and communicate.
