Starmer’s Labor government team has been critical of Trump in the past, with Foreign Secretary David Lammy calling him a “woman-hating, neo-Nazi-sympathizing sociopath”. Starmer has been trying to build bridges with Trump over the past few weeks, meeting him during a trip to New York in September.
Lammy’s tone was markedly different in his tweet Wednesday morning. “Britain has no greater friend than America. We have cherished our special relationship for more than 80 years on both sides of the Atlantic. We are looking forward to working with you.” he said
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it “the greatest comeback in history.” “Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful rededication to Israel and America’s great alliance,” he added.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, an avowed Trump supporter, was one of the first to respond as the election results became clear in the race to run for the White House.

Orban, Europe’s longest-serving leader and Vladimir Putin’s closest ally in the European Union, has previously vowed to open “a few bottles of champagne” to toast Trump.
British lawmaker Nigel Farage, who has been close to Trump for years, described his victory as “the most remarkable political comeback of our lifetime.”
