World Internet Conference Summit kicks off in China

The event, organized by the World Internet Conference and the government of this Zhejiang province, brings together experts, companies and government representatives from around the world.

The organizers reported that the central theme is “Embracing a digital future centered on people and guided by ethical intelligence: building together a community of shared destiny in cyberspace.”

The President of China, Xi Jinping, today sent a congratulatory message in which he highlighted the transformative impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and pointed out the need to promote digital development with innovation, security and equity as guiding principles .

He also stressed that China is willing to work with other countries to build a cyberspace that benefits humanity and promotes a shared future.

In this edition, 24 forums will be organized focusing on key topics such as the digital economy, innovation and governance of artificial intelligence, as well as global development initiatives.

The inclusion of a new segment on AI stands out, focused on its application, challenges and ethical governance, with the aim of promoting international cooperation and maximizing the benefits of this technology for humanity.

The summit introduced the World Internet Conference Outstanding Contribution Award, which will recognize individuals and companies for their achievements in the global cyberspace arena.

In addition, the creation of the Specialized Committee on Artificial Intelligence was announced, the first branch established by this international organization to promote exchange and collaboration in AI.

The Cooperation Plan between Think Tanks of the World Internet Conference was also launched with the participation of approximately 60 high-level research centers.

In parallel, the Digital Academy of the World Internet Conference was inaugurated, which will offer training programs for government, business and social leaders, with an emphasis on developing countries.

As part of the event, the “Light of the Internet” Exhibition is held, with a special focus on artificial intelligence.

The space includes exhibitions, launches of new technologies, initiatives to attract talent and industrial cooperation, with the participation of 665 companies and institutions from 53 countries and regions.
