World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade: Carmoy equals his personal best and takes 6th place at the height: “I did not expect that”

Thomas Carmoy finished sixth in the high jump competition on Sunday at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade. The South Korean Woo Sang-hyeok was titled.

Carmoy, 22, equaled his personal best by jumping to 2m28 on his third attempt. He then tried to pass 2m31, the Belgian record mark of Eddy Annys since 1986, in vain.

The victory went to South Korean Woo Sang-hyeok, with a jump of 2m34. The Swiss Loïc Gasch (2m31) took second place. Italian Gianmarco Tamberi, Olympic champion, and the New Zealander Hamish Kerrshare the third step of the podium, also with a jump to 2m31 but with one more attempt than Gasch during their course.
