Liputan6.com, Jakarta Every year, September 29 is observed as World Heart Day. In commemoration this year, Indonesian Heart Foundation (YJI) invites the entire community to adapt, including in terms of maintaining heart health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The current technology makes it easier for us to get information about health and can also get information about healthhealth services by conducting consultations virtual,” said YJI general chairman Esti Nurjadin through a press release written Tuesday (28/9/21).
Previously, many people who did heart health care by going directly to health facilities. But during a pandemic, we are also required to be more innovative and switch to digital.
Apart from being worried about coming directly to a health facility, consultation with a doctor remotely is also considered to be able to minimize direct contact.
According to Esti, in the current pandemic situation, telemedicine can be used as a means of safe consultation. Moreover, with the help of technology we can easily measure blood pressure or heart rate independently via a smartphone.
“Digital tools and applications on mobile phones that are widely circulating in the market can help us prevent heart and cardiovascular diseases. And help monitor health quickly and easily,” said Esti.
This means that the pandemic is not a barrier for people to continue to have their own heart health checked regularly.
