In 2015 and 2016, Linda Evangelista underwent a treatment to remove fat from her thighs, abdomen, back, flanks and chin by freezing the fat cells. That cryolipolysis failed due to a rare side effect, paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, or PAH, which just causes swelling. Twice Evangelista underwent “painful plastic surgery” to correct it again, but that also failed.
