BERKANE- Guinea began its qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup this Friday, November 17 in Berkane, Morocco and hosted Uganda for the occasion. Despite opening the score in the 15th minute of play through young Aguibou Camara, Guinea was held on for a long time by the Ugandans before winning (2-1).
Fahad Aziz Bayo took advantage of goalkeeper Ibrahima Koné’s poor exit and the disagreement of the Guinean defense to equalize after half an hour of play. In the second half, coach Kaba Diawara will launch the highly sought-after Sehrou Guirassy and Morgan Guilavogui , who replaced Moriba Kourouma and François Kamano. It was in the last moments that Seydouba Cissé entered the game and gave Guinea the three points, which won 2-1 in added time.
After this first meeting, Guinea travels next Tuesday, November 21 to challenge Botswana who were beaten 3-2 by Mozambique at home. The Botswanans are eagerly awaiting this match and Guinea is therefore already warned.
