Slovak skier Petra Vlhová was in the fifteenth place after the introductory thirtieth of the 1st round of Saturday’s huge slalom of the World Cup. In Slovenia’s Kranjska Gora, she was 1.51 seconds behind Sweden’s leader Sara Hector. The second place went to the French Tessa Worley (+0.08) and the third place belonged to the Italian Marta Bassin (+0.23). The start of the 2nd round is scheduled for 12:30.

With the starting number 1, Bassin opened the competition, which last year triumphed in two “giants” in Kranjska Gora over the course of two days. Shortly after the start, she was thrown off by an uneven track, but managed to consolidate. Worley better guarded the opening slope and held the lead until the end of the elite draw seven. Hector closed it and overtook all opponents with a force ride at the risk limit.

The American Mikaela Shiffrin with the three went without a more obvious mistake, but her speech lacked the necessary ferocity and at each time she suffered a bigger and bigger loss.
However, the same was true in the case of Vlhova, who immediately set off on a steep track with a quad. Although her concept was more aggressive, in some curves she seemed to be slowing down and not going through them so smoothly. She was three hundred seconds slower than Shiffrin at the finish line. Many competitors with higher starting numbers set better times and pushed the Slovak national team into the second ten of the result list of the 1st round.
