World Cup Qualifiers: Rodrygo Gives Brazil Victory After Three Straight Losses

Brazil has won again in the World Cup qualification after three defeats in a row. In the Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira, a goal from Rodrygo was enough for The Divine Canaries to beat Ecuador. It became 1-0.

Argentina in the lead

Argentina, who defeated Chile 3-0 on Thursday, are the leaders in the South American qualifying group after seven rounds, with 18 points. Uruguay follows with four points less. Brazil is number four with ten points.

The top six of the ten countries in the group qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Number seven plays play-offs.
