Doha: Qatari security forces are ready for the FIFA World Cup. The 5 day Vathan exercise ended successfully.
The Vathan safety exercise, which began on the 23rd of this month with the participation of 13 fraternal countries and friends to ensure the final safety readiness for the World Cup, has ended. In addition to 11 Qatari ministries, the military, police and security forces of 13 countries participated in the exercise.
The Vathan exercise was conducted in all important places such as stadiums, airports, metro-bus stations, large public spaces, ports, etc., with the participation of all safety departments related to the World Cup, including the department of public security, tournament security, civil authorities, operational departments, etc.
The exercise was aimed at testing the capabilities of the forces, measuring the speed of response in emergency cases, activating the command and control mechanism, strengthening joint cooperation with military and civil authorities to ensure the integrity of duties and the correct execution of tasks and strengthen cooperation with brother and friendly forces participating in the World Cup. Vathan conducted the exercise to ensure safety a few days before the World Cup. The World Cup runs from November 20 to December 23.
