Slovakian skier Petra Vlhová was in 11th place after the departure of the elite twenty of the 1st round of the World Cup slalom in Are, Sweden. She lost 2.15 seconds to the undisputed leader of the American Mikaela Shiffrin. Anna Swennová Larssonová from home was second with a deficit of 69 hundredths, Switzerland’s Wendy Holdenerová was in third place with a loss of 0.94 s.

Vlhová had an excellent start, she had an ideal rhythm from the beginning, she passed through the gates easily and smoothly. However, before the third timed interval, she made a huge mistake when she flew off the track. She was able to come back, but took a big loss, which she slightly skewed in the final passage.
Another one of the favorites, Lena Dürrová from Germany, did not avoid hesitation either, losing 1.62 seconds to the American, and Katarina Liensberger’s suffering continues. The Austrian finished behind Vlhová, her loss to Shiffrin was 2.93 s.
In the second round (1:30 p.m.) the Croatian Zrinka Ljutičová will not appear, as she missed the goal after a mistake.
