Ahmedabad: Hosts and two-time champions India and five-time winners Australia are entering the final of the Cricket World Cup. The final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the largest cricket stadium in the world with a capacity of 1,32,000. India has won all 10 matches played in the tournament while Aussies have won eight.
Huge prize money awaits the winners and runners-up. Winners will receive approximately Rs 33,32,86,800 (US$ 40 lakh). The runners-up will get Rs 16,66,43,400 (US$20 lakh). The losing teams in the semi-finals will receive $800,000 each.
The total prize money of the World Cup is 10 million US dollars. Teams will receive $40,000 for each win in the group stage. Teams that do not reach the knockout stage will be awarded $100,000 each.
