World Cup gold for Paralympic jump Anna Beck

In the WC debut in South Africa 2017, Anna Beck from Skoghalls CK in Hammarö won the WC gold in the line race and silver in the pace. She was one of the favorites ahead of Thursday’s pace race in the WC3 class at the Estoril racetrack in Cascais.

– That Anna would be involved in the war for the gold convinced, says Michael Lindgren.

Due to the pandemic, some of the competitors for the gold in the Paralympics have had to stay home from the World Cup. But there is no doubt that 41-year-old Beck is a big golden leap in Tokyo.

– She definitely feels on the right track and can deliver in Tokyo. You can do no more than defeat those who are here, and she does it in a brilliant way, says Lindgren.

On Saturday, Anna Beck drives, who has CMT, a neuromuscular diagnosis where the nerve pathways become weaker which affects muscles and balance, the line race in the WC.

In the Paralympics, she will compete in both pace and line races as well as in track cycling in velodrome.
