Nigeria will not take part in the next World Cup in Qatar, but will play a friendly match on June 2 against Ecuador, in New Jersey (United States).
The Super Eagles will face Mexico a few days earlier, May 28 in Arlington. Ecuador will be one of the adversaries, from an African country to the next world in this case Senegal. The “Tri” will play on June 5, against Mexico, in Chicago.
As a reminder, Senegal and Ecuador are housed in Pool A of the 2022 World Cup, along with Qatar, the organizing country, and the Netherlands. Senegalese and Ecuadorians will meet on November 29.
In addition to Ecuador, Nigeria, eliminated from the 2022 World Cup, will serve as sparring partners for Mexico as well. These two friendly matches can also serve as preparation for Nigeria, on behalf of the qualifications for the African Cup of Nations Can 2023, scheduled in Côte d’Ivoire.
