The former Manchester United player told ITV at half-time as Brazil were already 4-0 up: “I can’t believe what I’m seeing. The Brazilians are brilliant, of course, but South Korea, my God. I keep on never seen so much dancing, it’s like Strictly (English version of Let’s Dance, note d. publisher).”
However, he was not a fan of these recurring dance routines, especially the dance after Richarlison made it 3-0, when coach Tite was also involved.
“I think it’s really disrespectful to the opponent. I don’t mind the first dance, I understand that, but then the coach got involved too! It’s disrespectful,” Keane clarified.

Raphinha had already announced on the eve of the World Cup that the Brazilian team had rehearsed different dances for the goal celebrations.
Dancing is a Richarlison hallmark
“To tell the truth, we’ve already prepared the dances up to the tenth goal. We have prepared about ten dances for each game, one for the first, one for the second, one for the third… If we have more than that, score ten goals , then we have to start developing something new,” the Barca star said at a press conference.
Richarlison’s dancing is even a trademark of the Tottenham Hotspur striker. “The Dança do pombo (eng.: pigeon dance) comes from a band from Rio de Janeiro who composed a song in 2012,” Richarlison explained the origin of the dance a few years ago. After scoring his own goals, the 25-year-old celebrates this pigeon dance on a regular basis, both in the club and in the national team.
Manager Tite responded to the allegations of disrespect after the game: “I said (to Richarlison) if you show me I will but we have to be careful because different people will say it’s disrespectful. I didn’t want it to be construed as something more than being happy with the goal and the result and not that we don’t respect our opponents, which was not the case.”
Praise for Brazilian playfulness
Keane also praised the Brazilians after the gala show. “Brazil have talent and we saw it tonight. It was a pleasure to see them live,” enthused the United legend. but he’s not.”
