Abu Dhabi, October 17 / WAM / The World Heart Federation is holding the first-ever World Conference on Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) at the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Hotel from November 2 to 4.
The conference will bring together experts from around the world and a group of senior researchers and workers in the field of care for patients with rheumatic heart disease, along with a number of patients and activists in the field of combating this disease.
The conference aims to highlight the latest research findings in the field of rheumatic heart disease and communicate with pioneers and leaders around the world to develop practical and effective solutions to reduce the risks of this disease.
Professor Liesl Zuelke, Vice Chair of the Conference Steering Committee, said: “The seriousness of rheumatic heart diseases requires collective and urgent action, especially in areas where these diseases are widespread.”
She added: “The conference aims to unify experiences and ideas for cooperation in eliminating rheumatic heart diseases, as it is necessary to combine all efforts to deal with the methodological and medical challenges related to this disease.”
In turn, the President-elect of the World Heart Federation, Professor Jagat Narula, said: “Holding the first World Congress on Rheumatic Heart Disease in Abu Dhabi embodies an important moment in the relentless pursuit of eliminating the disease, as Abu Dhabi, with its cultural richness and modern facilities, provides an inspiring environment for pioneers, leaders, activists and even patients in order to unite cooperation efforts.” This conference symbolizes the presence of a united global front against the disease, which increases the commitment to promoting innovation, sharing knowledge, and mobilizing resources in the battle against this avoidable disease.”
He added: “Abu Dhabi always seeks to utilize its deep-rooted history and rich cultural fabric with the spirit of modernity and renewal, which makes it the ideal place to hold such a unique global event.”
The conference will provide participants with the ability to discuss challenges and learn about the latest innovations in the treatment of rheumatic heart diseases, in addition to providing the opportunity to learn about Abu Dhabi’s culture, history, charming nature and warm hospitality.
This conference is held in partnership with other leading international organizations in the field of treating rheumatic heart diseases and enjoys local support from the Emirates Heart Association and the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
