The World Car Awards will be held again in 2024. At the Geneva International Motor Show automotive exhibition, the finalists for the world’s best cars at the World Car Awards were announced in each category.
In 2024, there will be six awards competing at the World Car Awards. The awards include World Car of the Year, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car, World Electric Vehicle, World Urban Car and World Car Design of the Year. Now three finalists have been decided in each category.
Judging will end on March 27, 2024. The winner of the world’s best car 2024 will be announced at the 2024 New York International Auto Show.
A jury of more than 100 leading international automotive journalists from 29 countries selected the finalists via secret ballot. Scoring is based on the judges’ evaluation of each qualifying vehicle as part of their professional work.
From an initial list of 70 eligible vehicles across all categories, the World Car Awards judges first chose to shortlist 10 World Car of the Year finalists and five for each of the other categories, except Design. They then evaluate and score those finalists on eight separate parameters, based on their own test drive experiences, to determine the Top Three and ultimately the Winner in each category.
As a result, here are the top three candidates for the world’s best cars in 2024 from each category:
