Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus urged countries to achieve 40% coronavirus vaccination rates by the end of the year.

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Ghebreyesus, believes that the world has all the necessary tools to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic, but does not fully use them. He stated this during the World Health Summit in Berlin, the agency reported. TASS.

“The pandemic will end when the world decides to end it. It is in our hands,” Gebreyesus said.

According to him, the world community has “all the necessary tools,” including medical ones, to defeat the pandemic.

“The G20 countries must immediately fulfill their commitments and share doses. Manufacturers must give priority and urgently fulfill their contracts with COVAX and AVAT,” Gebreyesus said.

He also called on pharmaceutical companies to “share know-how, technology and licenses.

“If we do this, we can end the pandemic and accelerate global recovery,” concluded the head of WHO.

According to WHO, as of October 22, 242,348,657 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the world, of which 4,927,732 ended in death.
