HAMMER– World AIDS Day at the Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) Province was commemorated by the regional government together with the HIV/AIDS prevention community in Palu City, Sigi Regency and Donggala at the Bantaya Cafe, Saturday (2/12/2023) evening.
The activity, which was attended by Head of Social Affairs Sitti Hasbiah and Head of BKKBN Tenny C Soriton, was also attended by elements of regional organizations, communities, students and across sectors.
This joint community commemoration is in line with the theme of AIDS Day 2023, “Moving Together with the Community to End AIDS by 2030”.
Governor Rusdy Mastura, represented by Assistant for Government and Social Welfare, Fahrudin, said that the key message from this theme was the active role of the community in making changes.
“Through collaboration we can save human lives with various efforts to control HIV AIDS,” said the assistant.
In another part, the assistant said that three zero is the AIDS elimination target whose indicators consist of no new cases of HIV, no deaths due to AIDS and no stigma and discrimination against people with HIV.
With an implementation strategy abbreviated as STOP, namely Flash, Find, Treat and Maintain.
“By implementing this strategy, more and more people in Central Sulawesi will be reached with comprehensive HIV information,” he said.
The assistant then asked the young generation present to take advantage of community platforms to solve the HIV AIDS problem.
“The youth of Central Sulawesi are the youth of the nation’s hope who are trying to prevent HIV AIDS,” he concluded.
On that occasion, the assistant also handed over certificates and bonuses to the winners of short AIDS educational videos from SMK 2 Banawa, Donggala Regency.
Then the handover continues lifetime achievement for 30 years of service to the Secretary of the Central Sulawesi Province AIDS Commission, Muslimah L Gadi. The event also included dialogue about HIV AIDS and door prize draws. MATTER
