Workshop on the planned course in archaeological informatics: HTW Dresden

Since last year, the HTW Dresden has been working with partners, in particular the German Archaeological Institute, and the National University of Mongolia on the development of a continuing education, international master’s course for applied technologies in the field of archeology.

The course is designed to meet the growing need for technical expertise in the areas of documentation, research, communication and data management relating to archaeological cultural heritage. For this purpose, the outstanding technical and engineering expertise at the HTW Dresden, in particular from the faculties of computer science / mathematics and geoinformation, is to be used to offer a course tailored to the needs of the archaeological disciplines and fields of work in cooperation with national international partners. The project is funded by the DAAD as part of the Future.EAST internationalization program at HTW Dresden.

In order to network the partner institutions more closely and to give interested students and teachers an insight into the topic, a workshop on applied computer science and geoinformation in archeology will take place on Monday, July 5th, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. .
