Doctor MA (29), suspect workshop and house burner in Malabar Market, Tangerang City, was taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta (Jaktim). He was brought in for observation of his mental condition.
“Now the suspect is being observed at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital,” said Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang City Police, Kompol Abdul Rachim when contacted, Wednesday (11/8/2021).
Separately, the Head of the Jatiuwung Police, Kompol Zazali Hariyono, said that the purpose of the MA being taken to the Police Hospital was to undergo a psychiatric test there.
“Psychological test,” said Zazali briefly.
Previously, the police revealed MA .’s motive set fire to the workshop as well as the motor home parents of Lionardi (34), who is his girlfriend, in Malabar Market, Tangerang. MA deliberately set fire to the workshop because there was a romantic motive.
“This was done because the perpetrator was pregnant and the victim’s parents did not approve of their child marrying the perpetrator,” said Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang City Police Commissioner Abdul Rochim when contacted, Tuesday (10/8).
During a search, the police found five plastic bags of gasoline in MA’s car. To the police, MA admitted that he only threw two packs of gasoline into the garage.
Apart from gasoline, the police found a number of other pieces of evidence, including two pregnancy test kits.
“Two instant pregnancy test kits,” said Rochim.
Rochim said that before the incident occurred, the two had had an argument in front of the repair shop after getting out of the car. Lionardi had told his family that MA wanted to burn down the workshop.
“That the victim Lionardi had a fight with the perpetrator in the MA in front of the victim’s workshop when he got out of the perpetrator’s car and the victim entered the workshop. Then the victim Lionardi informed that his girlfriend would set fire to the workshop,” he said.
Not long after, MA left using his car, then returned to the repair shop. When he returned, MA threw gasoline into the workshop which consisted of three floors. A fire then lit on the ground floor of the workshop.
Lionardi and his two brothers tried to save themselves going upstairs. However, only Lionardi’s younger brothers named Nando and Siska survived, while Lionardi and his parents died on the spot.
Workshop and house fires this happened on Friday (6/8) around 23:10 WIB, which killed three people from one family. The three victims who died were identified as Edy (66), as the owner of the workshop, and his wife, initials Lilys (55), and their son, Lionardi (34).
