“Works are being carried out towards the establishment of the National Cyber Center”

“According to the relevant decree of the head of the country, Ilham Aliyev, work is currently being carried out in the direction of establishing the National Cyber Center.” SIA reports that Colonel-General Ali Nagiyev, head of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said these words during his speech at the “Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2023” event. cooperation with the special services of partner countries and advanced technology companies in the field of combating cyber threats is being expanded in the direction of organizing work against cyber threats, and all this serves to increase the defense capacity of the national cyber space, as well as strengthen our position in the global cyber space. I would like to emphasize in particular that the honorable President Mr. Ilham Aliyev’s attention and concern for the formation and development of the national ecosystem in the field of cyber security resulted in a serious improvement of the position of our country in international rankings. Thus, in the ranking table of the Cyber Security Index, the Republic of Azerbaijan has risen 36 places and advanced from the 86th place to the 50th place. It should be noted that this result is the highest position that our country has achieved so far in the mentioned rating table. I believe that this event, held for the first time in Azerbaijan, is a special event in bringing together local experts on cyber security, exchanging ideas, establishing relations between the private and public sectors, as well as higher education institutions. will be important, and the knowledge and experience gained in this competition will contribute to ensuring Azerbaijan’s national security. I wish the participants of the “Cyber War” competition to take advantage of the created conditions and a healthy competitive environment, and wish them success.
