Working in pajamas negatively affects mental health

An Australian study shows that working from home in pajamas negatively impacts mental health.

In particular, 59% of the respondents who worked in pajamas showed signs of psychological disorders of various kinds, compared to 29% of those who preferred to change their pajamas and wear regular pieces before the start of the work day.

On the other hand, people who worked at home with young children reported lower productivity but no deterioration in mental health.

The study authors said that our findings may help remove the stigma associated with wearing “pajamas” at work, shape work-from-home policies and support researchers at the start of their careers and those with young children.
