Working in front of a screen for two hours affects eye health

Jakarta (ANTARA) – In the all-digital era and the demands of working and studying from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, many people cannot be separated from each other. smartphone, computers, laptops, tablets and other digital devices.

In a press release from HOYA Lens Indonesia on Thursday, it was stated that according to research, the average person spends a total of eight to 10 hours in front of digital devices every day.

This can cause symptoms of eye strain, eye irritation, blurred vision, and headaches. These symptoms can even appear after you just two hours continuously staring at the screen of a digital device.

The condition gets worse when you switch digital devices, from laptops to smartphones, for example. Your eyes will experience fatigue and strain from never getting a chance to relax.

“Hoya Vision Care offers a solution, namely Digital Sync III Lenses, which are individually tailored to unique and specific needs. These lenses can help relieve eye strain due to prolonged exposure to light from digital device screens,” said Nihla Azkiya, Marketing Manager of PT HOYA Lens Indonesia.

There are three variants of accommodation support sizes (power boost) in an effort to reduce the symptoms of eye fatigue. Featuring a protective layer that is strong and not easily scratched, the lens is claimed to have a longer life.

“In addition, the durability of the lens coating provides stable performance, sharp and natural vision throughout the day,” said Nihla.

Nihla also added that as with other Hoya lenses, the Sync III digital lens is equipped with an HVLL (Hi-Vision Long Life) coating protection which is five times stronger and scratch resistant than standard lens coatings.

As a breakthrough compared to similar digital lenses, Sync III comes with more than one technology and it applies individual vision profiles to make the lenses better suited to the unique vision needs of users.

With the technology used by Sync III Lenses, various symptoms of eye strain can be reduced by up to 84 percent using Digital Sync III Lenses.

Digital Sync III lenses have been launched in Indonesia in November 2021.

Lens care is very easy, just like any other lens care. Wet the lenses before wiping them with a special cloth for glasses or a soft tissue and placing them on the glasses case so they are not easily scratched or bumped.
