Publisher Hooded Horse has announced that 3Division’s economic simulation game Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic will be released from Early Access in 2024. A new trailer and details about the upcoming update were also released.
Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic has been in early access since 2019 and has since gained a reputation as an incredibly deep and detailed economic simulation. There were even opinions that this game is the best in terms of economic modeling.
The main feature of the January update is the first two parts of the campaign. Don’t be fooled, this is essentially a tutorial. On the other hand, Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic was in dire need of such guidance. The current “custom game” mode essentially just drops you in the middle of the field, leaving you to figure things out on your own. It’s not easy for a beginner.
In Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic, players need to build an industrial power in the style of the Soviet era. Although the virtual state is not formally part of the socialist camp, therefore you can trade with both Western and Eastern countries. However, this also means that you are responsible for all transport infrastructure and supplies, and must also support the welfare of workers to prevent exodus.
A distinctive feature of the game is a high degree of customization. You can customize the level of detail and complexity of the economic simulation by turning certain features on or off. Or just choose the difficulty. There’s no need to drown in a sea of settings before you even start playing.
