(ANSA) – CROTONE, 14 NOV – The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case, for now against unknown persons, for the crime of manslaughter for the death at work of Fabio Correale, the 37-year-old worker who lost his life in the hold of a ship docked at the port of Crotone. The investigations, entrusted to the Port Authority, will have to ascertain the cause of death which no longer appears to be, as initially hypothesized, due to an illness. From the autopsy on the worker’s body, elements emerged that would exclude natural causes and on which the investigators maintain the utmost confidentiality. There are various hypotheses being examined by the Port Authority investigators but that of poisoning by gases produced by biomass seems to be excluded. To find out how Fabio Correale died, we will still have to wait for the results of all the tests related to the autopsy, the results of which will be delivered to the Prosecutor’s Office within 60 days. Meanwhile, Correale’s funeral was celebrated today in the church of San Paolo a Tufolo, attended by hundreds of people. (HANDLE).
