The project to widen the A57 motorway in Toulon between the Benoît-Malon and Pierre-Ronde interchanges is entering the construction phase.
The work to widen the A57 motorway, between the Benoît-Malon and Pierre-Ronde interchanges in Toulon (Var), was launched in May 2021. Earthworks are being carried out in the Sainte-Musse sector. The construction of a temporary bridge at avenue Blondel and rue Cassin will follow, from June 2021. The shift in traffic to the new structure is scheduled for September. The completion of this first batch will allow the teams of the group of companies (Guintoli, EHTP, NGE GC, Siorat, Agilis and NGE Fondations, Vinci Autoroute), in charge of project management, to expand the existing structures. .
The widening work will then be carried out at the interchanges located in the section of the A57 motorway concerned. They include a reorganization of the entry and exit ramps as well as the creation of two stops in the Sainte-Musse sector. Upgrading operations will finalize the site. These include the installation of systems for collecting and channeling runoff water. “We will have to work on different sectors simultaneously, sometimes on the exterior side of the A57, sometimes at the level of the central reservation,” explains Mathilde Froment, deputy director of operations for the project.
The widening of the A57 is planned in four phases. The site is expected to last four years.
