Work on the future community house will begin

Recently, meeting for its last ordinary meeting before the summer, the council of the community of communes Gorges Causses Cévennes endorsed several files reflecting the work carried out in committees over the past few weeks, including that of the community house. The final preliminary project for the requalification of the former Hôtel du Rochefort de Florac, into a house bringing together all the community services, the tourist attraction agency and able to accommodate users and meetings of the authorities in optimal conditions , was presented by Hélène Solignac, architect at HSB architecture. It has been nourished by the reflections carried out since the launch of the project in 2021 and the validation of the preliminary draft on March 24, 2022. “long but necessary maturation” according to the words of President Henri Couderc.

No less than eight optional choices aimed at improving the environmental quality and the exemplary nature of this future public building have been validated by the council: wood pellet boiler, recovery of rainwater for the needs of sanitary installations, insulation by panels of wood wool and use of bio-sourced materials and photovoltaic panels…

The nursery decorated for a capacity of 20 children

The filing of the building permit and the consultation of companies will now be able to be launched, with a view to starting work at the end of 2022. The financing plan for this ambitious project has also been validated, in a worrying inflationary context, where some sources additional funding and opportunities for pooling the occupation of premises have, however, been able to reassure elected officials.

In addition to this project, the council validated the approval increasing the reception capacity of the Florac-Trois-Rivières crèche to twenty children, or even the riders to the works contract for the extension of this same crèche, in compliance of the budgetary envelope allocated and which made possible this wider reception.

Works related to water and sanitation also occupied part of the debates, with the validation of the financing plan for the repair of the networks of rue du Thérond, €650,000 excluding tax, or the awarding of the contract for burial works for the networks of the hamlet of Nivoliers in Hures-la-Parade, €94,470 excluding tax.
