The next February 11th work begins for reorganize traffic flow and security at the Outpost, in addition to favoring its connectivity with Leioa. The Deputation will make an investment of 2.662.000 euros for these works that have an expected duration of nine months.
The Deputy for Infrastructure and Territorial Development in Bizkaia, Imanol Pradales, has commented that these works will coexist with other projects in the area such as those of the Kukularra and at the confluence of Plaiabarri. The Deputy has assured that the Advanced “Will maintain at all times” the two lanes of traffic in the direction Bilbao and to act with “Microsurgeries” to ensure circulation. “To these lanes will be added a third, of incorporation or exit, necessary for the new movements of connection with the lateral road”, has indicated Pradales.
The works of the Advanced count on three phases differentiated: the first will be held in the trunk rails and side track, affecting the closure of the exit to the shopping centers, Astrabudua and the campus of the UPV / EHU. This connection, which is currently outgoing, will be modified to become an addition to the Advanced.
The second phase will focus on the incorporation of Udondo to change it as an exit towards the lateral road and in the third the new Udondo exit and a new braided lane will be put into service.
