As part of its public service missions, in connection with the judicial protection of young people, the Moselle Association for Educational and Social Action in an Open Environment (AAESEMO) follows many Mosel families. Educators often go to the homes of assisted minors and their families. “Too often they find that parents are honest, to fill the fridge or the cupboards. It is accentuated with inflation and rising costs that we all perceive ”, explains Sophie Sophie Maurice-Pluchon, director of the association. “Families are very worried, we can feel it. They know the big winter bills are coming and they don’t know how they will pay them. “
Many don’t dare to ask for help, some have never had to. Of many associations are already sounding the alarm : the number of applicants is expected to increase in the coming weeks.
To anticipate needs and requests, AAEEMO launches an appeal for donations, in particular for hygiene, home and basic food products.
And toys for Christmas
Association members are also looking for toys for Christmas. “Because we know that many parents will not be able to offer it, it is already obvious. »All the toys, books and games that have been sleeping in the closets of grown children for a long time and which will direct the feasts of foster children and their brothers and sisters can be brought.
All donations can be deposited, Monday to Friday, at the AAEEMO office, Parc des Varimonts, 10 avenue de Thionville, Woippy, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
