SinceSince there are smartphones, the world of mobile games has also changed significantly. At Wooga in Berlin, a team of more than 300 is now working on the development of such mobile games. In the site portrait we take a look behind the scenes.
At Wooga in Berlin we play – or rather we develop games. Because that Pursue designs and produces so-called Story Driven Casual Games. These are games where the player’s action drives the story.
Wooga has specialized primarily in mobile devices and has developed titles such as “June’s Journey”, “Pearl’s Peril” and “Switchcraft”. A total of five mobile games come from the company’s game forge.
Wooga has been developing mobile games since 2009
Wooga was founded in 2009 by Jens Begemann and Philipp Moeser. The company name stands for “World of Gaming”. In the founding year, the first game appeared on Facebook. Just two years later, the team at the time tried out their first mobile game.
Over the years, developers experimented with different genres before focusing on casual games. Since 2018, Wooga has also been part of the social media company Playtika.

In Wooga’s Berlin office, around 330 employees are currently working on the development of new games. The team includes game designers and story writers as well as engineers, artists and production managers.
They work together in seven departments on a total of three floors, including an open office space in the old bakery, the Tech Hub in Prenzlauer Berg.
