The program of the festival includes two Bulgarian films – “Ave” and “The Island”
Woody Allen’s romantic comedy “Midnight in Paris” will open the 64th Cannes Film Festival today. A cameo role in the film, which was not included in the competition program, was performed by the first lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.
The Cannes Film Festival will continue until May 22. Two Bulgarian films are also included in its program – the full-length “Ave” by producer Dimitar Gochev is in the competition program, and the premiere “The Island” by director Kamen Kalev is included in the program of the “Directors’ Fortnight”, informs Deutsche Welle. The chairman of the jury for the Palme d’Or award this year is the American actor Robert De Niro.
