Manchester –
Ed Woodward was criticized for being difficult to bring in new players for Manchester United. However, the defense came from the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
MU is again in the spotlight because it’s so slow in the summer transfer market. So far, MU has only signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax Amsterdam and the player immediately made a goal on his debut match.
However, Van de Beek alone is not enough because MU needs a lot of improvement, especially at the back. But from the facts, MU continues to be linked with Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane, and even Ousmane Dembele, who plays as an attacker.
Not to mention that MU reportedly wants to hook up another central midfielder. With the current condition, it is clear that the fans are angry and Ed Woodward, as the club CEO, is the target of anger because he is considered incompetent at his work.
So far, Woodward has only seen players out of his head on social media, before finally failing to get it because he was captured by a rival team. Sergio Reguilon (Tottenham Hotspur) and Thiago Alcantara (Liverpool) are examples.
The criticism could be even tighter when the transfer market closed on October 5, MU really did not bring in any more players. Regarding this, Solskjaer issued his defense.
“When I accepted this job, I gave my view on what the team should be like and how we can achieve it. I think the club has understood very well after these talks,” said Solskjaer. Sky Sports.
“To be honest, results are the main measure here. But the club also looks at what we are doing at the moment, and what we are going to do in the future,” continued Solskjaer.
“I don’t want to see what other teams are doing – of course I’m still following the development of other teams – but we have a way of running this club, as well as other teams.”
“Of course, I am very happy to train the existing players. But part of this job is to improve the quality of the squad all the time and so far I have always been supported. We are working hard to be competitive again, to compete with the best teams,” he concluded. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
