Wooden asparagus statue creates hilarity in the German city: ‘I really see something different in it’ | Abroad

The two-meter-high statue is located on Torgau’s market square. The sculpture’s creator, wood artist and Youtuber Marcus Schol says of his creation: “I wanted to make a clear statement against corona and encourage the people of Torgau.” Schol hopes that people in Torgau will persist for a while and therefore opted for an asparagus: “Don’t let yourself down, stay steadfast, we can do it,” he told local newspaper Torgauer Zeitung.
